Iris in the Garden - SOLD

Iris in the Garden Oil on Stretched Canvas, 20" x 20" Sold on Commission. Big and busy, and really nice to do, from a photo taken by the lady who commissioned it. (Thanks, Judy) I apologize for the photo here, taken under flourescent lights tonight. I'll replace the photo tomorrow with a natural light shot. The painting isn't nearly as washed out as it appears here. Thanks for looking.

Pattycake Field SOLD

Pattycake Field Oil on Canvas Board, 6" x 8" SOLD at $25.00 plus $5.00 shipping. Since I was switching up to acrylics to do the chickadees below, I was throwing away my oil palette paints, and wanted to at least use some of the paint, not waste all of it. So I did this little painting out of imagination "as fast as I could" and call it Pattycake Field.Very fast, very thick and very swishy. Thanks for looking.

White Floral - SOLD

White Floral Oil on Canvas Board, 12" x 16" SOLD at $80.00 plus shipping. I realized about half way into this one that I'd done it before, but smaller. Last time I called it a peony, but I'm truly not sure what it is. It might be a double tulip. At any rate, it's from a photo I took I don't remember where. So there you go. Thanks for looking.

Hydrangea Tumble - SOLD

Hydrangea Tumble Oil on Canvas Board, 12" x 16" SOLD at $100 plus shipping. I gave my hydrangea plant to my grandson for his garden, so this one was done from some photos of a neighbor's bush in Maryland. It is one of those bushes that has both blue, lavender, and mauve colored blooms on it at the same time, very cool. Thanks for looking.

The Bug Hunter - SOLD

The Bug Hunter Oil on Canvas Board, 16" x 20" SOLD at $100.00 plus shipping. My grandson Jimmy and I went for a walk and I snapped this photo of him, my daughter's Nature Boy. He hunts bugs, and has a fancy zippered plastic and mesh container for them. Again, painting not so much the objects, as the way the light makes them look. I really like this one, especially the way the purples and blues work in it. Thanks for looking.

Sunlit Vines - SOLD

Sunlit Vines Oil on Canvas Board, 16" x 20" Sold at $125.00 plus shipping. Didn't this one turn out beautifully? Does anyone remember the radio ad that had as a quip "I aMAZE myself!" ? My daughter and I used to use it in fun, and now we can't remember the whole bit. Write me if you remember it, won't you? I've done this one before. I used it for a December 5th post, but it was smaller, and it's fun to see that I've added more subtleties here. Change and grow, that's what it's all about. Thanks for looking.

Golden Afternoon Creek - SOLD

Golden Afternoon Creek Oil on Stretched Canvas, 20" x 20" SOLD at $125.00 plus shipping. This is a larger painting, and I totally enjoyed doing it. I'm thinking about why I like doing "woods scenes" so much, and it occurred to me that a creek was the first plein air piece of artwork I ever did, back when I was in my teens. My parents framed it, and I think it's still floating around at one of my brother's homes. Maybe it's the sense of peace and stillness that I love, and I also love the dabbing, broken colors. Anyway, thanks for looking.
