Field in Spring Green- SOLD

Field in Spring Green
Oil on Canvas mounted on board
11.5" x 12"
Sold at $35.00 plus shipping.
At the beginning of Wauwinet Road is a wonderfully picturesque abandoned farm, with barn, silo and big lovely fields (there were deer grazing there today), and a wonderful old deserted red farmhouse, with curtains still in it's windows. I'll have lots of fun painting there. Today was all about the young greens of spring, with an overcast sky. Beautiful! Thanks for looking.

Paphiopedilum Orchid - SOLD

Paphiopedilum Orchid, with detail shown Watercolor on Fabriano Artistico Image size 16" x 20" Paper size 22" x 29" Full Sheet SOLD at $50.00 plus $20.00 shipping (oversized for mail) This watercolor was started during a botanical orchid painting workshop given by JEAN BRITON JAECKS at the National Conservatory in downtown DC (the glass one next to the Capitol.) We each had an orchid to work from, and it was superb to paint and then eat lunch amidest thousands of orchids; since the workshop was in conjunction with the January orchid show. The image is done on a full sheet of paper, and can be cropped to your specs by your framer. Thanks for looking.

Sienna irises - SOLD

Sienna Irises Oil on Clay board 11" x 14" Sold at $60.00 plus shipping. I had some clayboard (intended for watercolors) left over, and actually started this as a watercolor. Blech. So decided to try using oils on the clayboard. Not advised. I had to use a lot of oil and medium to get the paint to flow at all, since the clay is designed to absorb moisture. Now that it's done though, I like the way it turned out. Thanks for looking.

Daffodils on Watercolor Canvas - SOLD

Daffodils on Canvas board Watercolors 11" x 14", Sold at $25.00 plus shipping. A second attempt at daffodils, done on watercolor canvas. I had taken a Tom Lynch workshop last year, and Tom is so enthusiastic about watercolor canvas that I bought some to try. It may be something that you need to try a few times before you "get it", but right now, it's not for me. Give me good watercolor paper, and let my canvas be happy with oils. If nobody wants this one, I'm going to wash it away and use the canvas for oils. If anyone likes it, it can be sprayed and framed without glass or matting. Thanks for looking.

Daffodils In Oil - SOLD

Daffodils in Oil 5.5" x 11.5" Oil on Canvas mounted on board Sold at $25.00 plus shipping. I tried daffodils twice today. This is the first, sitting in the wind, squinting to try to discern the color exactly of the shadows. Very tough. My canvas was also very coarse, so it was'nt easy to blend everything together. Maybe that's a good thing. Thanks for looking.

Field Flowers Two - SOLD

Field Flowers Two 12" x 13" Oil on canvas mounted to board Sold at $40.00 plus shipping This is the same painting as the other day, but because there was more than one person interested in it, I did it again today. Kind of fun to repaint a scene, making small changes, and color refinements. The composition was already done. Thanks for looking.

Old Truck at Crown Farm - SOLD

Old Truck at Crown Farm 12" x 18" Oil on board Sold at $50.00 plus shipping. There was an artists paint-out at this farm in Gaithersburg, Maryland last summer. I remember how wonderfully hot it was, and for whatever reason, I followed fellow student John (didn't know him at the time) into the middle of this field. We had a great view of the barns and silos, and the bonus was this old truck, which the hands later drove off to do a chore. Sorry for the horrible color in this. The blue in the sky got lost, as did the nice lavender of the little flowers. But you have the general idea here. Thanks for looking.
